ERC Advanced Grant to the Arnesen lab

June 24, 2026

Professor Thomas Arnesen and his research group have received a European Research Council (ERC) Advanced Grant for their new project, NterSwitch, which will investigate how proteins are regulated in human cells. The grant provides up to EUR 2.5 million over five years to support the research.

The project aims to uncover how N-terminal acetylation regulates protein function and lifespan, and how this influences cellular and organismal biology.

This is the second time Arnesen lab has secured ERC funding. He previously received an ERC Consolidator Grant covering the period from 2018 to 2023.
